Tools I Use
There are a bare minimum of tools and services that you need when starting out.
I’ve tried a number of services over the last couple of years, and these are my preferred group. The most very basic tools one needs for making money online include:
Website Domain
1and1.com offers 99-cent domains for .com for the first year. The renewal fee is currently at $14.99.
Namecheap.com offers .com domains with a renewal fee of $10.47. WhoisGuard is provided at no extra charge.
Website Hosting
I’ve used SiteGround and BlueVoda both, for several years and I’ve been very pleased with the overall uptime and the level of service. Support is conducted primarily via email and it is topnotch. SiteGround is fast!

Blue Voda Web Hosting
SiteGround is my preferred host.
Email Autoresponder Service
I use a couple of services. The one that’s been around as long as I can remember is Aweber.
Check out their helpful free brochure, What to Write in Your Emails
Or, if you’re just starting out, use the free email resource, MailChimp.
Web Tools
PayPal is completely free to use. If you want to equip yourself to handle any customer disputes that may arise, please check out this online PayPal primer, “Refund Request Crusher.”
AppSumo
Offers a range of web apps and online marketing tools at prices you won”t find anywhere else.
DropBox
For online storage and file sharing, DropBox has been around as long as any of them, so you’ll find that it’s integrated with a number of other online tools. For example, a free WordPress plugin works with DropBox to provide auto-storage for your website/blog back-ups.
Countdown Timer for WordPress, HTML Pages, and Email
This is sold as an email countdown timer but I’ve used it successfully on webpages too. It’s a keeper!
